Michigan, you’re a real treat. 🍂 We’ve had the opportunity to spend a few weekends in Traverse City, Michigan and we highly recommend you visit this charming town in the late spring, summer, or fall! Traverse City is about 6 hours from Chicago, located in the northwest edge of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. This is a perfect trip for foodies and wine-lovers who also love to be outdoors!
You have to visit Hermann, Missouri, especially if you are a wine lover! Hermann is a such a cute village and has deep German roots. This means they have lots of amazing wineries, distilleries, sausage, bakeries, and even some museums. We had a blast and we highly recommend it as a great couples destination for the Fall and holidays!
Did you know that Midwest Living magazine named the Iowa State Fair one of the “Top 30 Things Every Midwesterner Should Experience”? We definitely agree and can confirm! We found so much fun at the Fair this summer! Our day was full of carnival rides, games, Fair food (that Spam burger was pure nostalgia for me), ice cold beer, and even a wine down experience in the garden. We had an incredible stay at French Lick Resort which is perfectly situated among wineries, restaurants, ice-cream shops, and horseback riding stables! We didn’t need to leave the resort, however, because they have their own spa, pools, restaurants on site, daily tea time, surly carts, foot golf, a bowling alley and so much more!
