St. Patty’s Day is around the corner and we all know that St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago is an all out party! So here are some ideas for fun activities and date ideas to make your St Patrick’s Day Celebration in Chicago even better. Plus we even have a few ideas if you are staying home.

Chicago River Dyeing

Go watch the iconic Chicago River dyeing! An annual tradition since 1962 where they dye the river green the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day. This year the river dyeing is set to begin at 10am. You will want to get to the riverwalk extra early to see the dyeing in action, but don’t worry if you’re not an early bird the river stays green up to 24-48 hours.

Venteux

Michigan Avenue’s glitzy French brasserie located just steps away from the Chicago River, will be offering downtown visitors multiple ways to indulge all week long in honor of St. Patrick’s Day with Irish-inspired brunch, shamrock cookies, St. Patrick celebratory cocktails and more:

Brunch – with chef-driven dishes as well as $20 bottomless mimosas and rose. The team will offer a special Corned Beef Hash on 3/12 and 3/13. Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Nightcap – head bartender Robby Mack will be serving up the ‘Irish Maiden’ for a limited time, crafted with Jameson Irish Whiskey, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, lemon juice and muddled cucumber (available 3/12 & 3/17).

The Forge Lemont Quarries

St. Patrick’s Weekend Celebration is back at The Forge! Join them for live music and Irish food & booze all weekend long. Pendry- Elevated Irish Classics & Whiskey Flights

Nestled on the Mag Mile just down the street from the Chicago River, Bar Pendry is a must-stop for a special St.Patrick’s day feast during the day-long celebrations on Saturday, March 12th. Fuel up with a decadent breakfast of Wagyu Corned Beef Hash Burrito with fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy potatoes, and a side of Irish Cheddar Mornay. Looking for a bite post river-dyeing? Try their adorable and delicious themed shakes! The St. Patrick’s Day menu starts March 7th- March 20th and offers two shakes. The Get Lucky Shake which has Andes mint chocolate shake, rainbow sugar cookie, pot of gold godo, and a green chocolate covered pretzel, and the Lucky Charms Hot Chocolate that is topped with a chocolate marshmallow, clover s’more, and green chocolate covered pretzel. St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Chicago

Get up early and grab a good spot to watch the parade! It has been canceled the past two years, so expect a big turn out this year. It is on Saturday, March 12th and begins at 12 pm on Columbus Drive between Balbo Drive and Monroe Drive.

Irish American Heritage Center Festival

Following the parade head to the Irish American Heritage Center to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day festivities for $17 per person from 1pm-11:30pm Saturday, March 12th. If don’t want to get in all the craziness of St. Patrick’s day or are planning on staying home try watching a movie and having themed drinks with your partner.
